The Training on Relevant Laws and Regulations for Professional Veterinary Practitioners was held in the Xi’an Fengcheng Hotel on May 25, 2010. This training was attended by forty-six (46) participants including two (2) women and forty-four (44) men.The objective of the training was to help trainees from prefecture and pilot county levels to better understand the relevant laws and regulations for licensed veterinary practitioners. Furthermore it helped prepare them for the organization, implementation, supervision and procedures of the new incoming National Examination in their prefectures.
Opening ceremony was chaired by Fan Linghan, Section Chief of Veterinary Medicine section of Shaanxi Animal Husbandry Bureau. It was attended by Mel Hoffer, LTTA of LHESP Shaanxi office; Chen Bo, CTA of
LHESP Shaanxi office; Shi Xingwu, Deputy Director of Shaanxi Animal Husbandry Bureau; Gao Juxing, Director of Shaanxi Animal Inspection Institute; and Zhang Changlong, Director of Shaanxi Animal Epidemic Disease Prevention and Control Center. Shi Xingwu gave an opening speech pointing out the importance of the new laws and regulations and how they will be applied; Mel Hoffer gave a short introduction on Canadian Veterinary Associations and the National Examination Board system in Canada.
The one-day training was presented by Fan Linghan. He mainly talked about: new laws and regulations and measures of administration; and provisional measures and guidance on administration of professional veterinary practitioner’s qualification examination.
Participants can now go to their local areas for the organization, implementation and supervision of the National Examination of professional veterinary practitioner’s qualification for the year 2010.
