Ambassador of Canada visited LHESP site in Jilin

The honorable Ambassador of Canada Mr. Robert Wright, visited the LHESP Jilin site in June 14th 2007. Accompanied by Mrs. Jennie Chen, Second Secretary from Canada Embassy and Mr. Karim Morcos, Second Secretary from CIDA.

During the visit the Ambassador Wright was briefed about the project progress by Dr. Javier Burchard (LHESP manager), Dr. Peter O’Donnell (technical advisor for Jilin) and the Chinese partner, prefecture Animal Husbandry Bureau. He visited the animal quarantine station at the Sino-Korea border in Tumen, and Korean farmers in the pilot county Longjin. He also addressed and interacted with the participants of the ongoing Animal Health training of trainees program (MTOT) to get acquainted with the project training activities. The Ambassador visit created a positive atmosphere that without doubt will enhance the already existing sound relationship with the Chinese partner. Through this activity, decision makers and stakeholders will get a better understanding of the LHESP project facilitating therefore, the project successful implementation.
