A group formed by project implementation agencies both FECC and Agriteam made a visit to Shaanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing and IMAR, the second started provinces of
LHESP between November 27 and December 7th 3006. It implies that all the project province start to implement the LHESP as planned. Group members include Debra Rasmussen, Canadian project director and Xu Yong, Chinese project manager.
During the visiting, the group introduces the project progress, next year work plan, and detailed activity for inception in four provinces to local decision maker and senior mangers of AHB who response for project. The group also briefs the basic situation of livestock production and veterinary service; review the progress of veterinary system reform and preparation of LHESP implementation, especially the progress made by province after they received MOA official letter about LHESP which include establish leading group, set up project office, allocate counterpart fund and staff. Same time, group also discuss with local veterinary extension workers to understand the previous activities and future work plan, visit provincial veterinary diagnostic laboratory. Final, Group suggest local government to finish the questionnaire and recommend project pilot counties before Chinese New Year.
