Management start-up mission for LHESP, Jan. 8-25, 2006
 

Management start-up mission for Livestock Health Extension Services Project worked from Jan. 8 to 25, 2006 in China. They visited Beijing and three project provinces/autonomous region (Jilin, Xinjiang and Gansu) and made preparation for Inception Mission scheduled in March.

Members in the management start-up mission include Mr. Xu Yong, Chinese manager from FECC, MOA, Debra Rasmussen, Canadian Project Director and economist from Agriteam, Terry Hunt, senior veterinarian, Wang Chengfang, assistant manager and Li Baogen, advisor and training coordinator.

Dr. Brian Bedard, the CIDA agriculture program director joined the mission in Xinjiang and Beijing. Raymond Drouin, Counselor of Canadian Embassy in Beijing, Yuan Hanping, deputy Director General of FECC, MOA and Mr. Xu Yubo of DIC, MOA attend the wrap up meeting of Project Management start up mission.

In Beijing the mission had discussion with Mr. Xu Baiwan, Deputy Director General of National Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Service and representative from Veterinary Bureau, MOA. In the provinces the mission visited lab facilities and wide ranges of discussions were held with Chinese partners regarding the project preparation which laid good foundation for Inception Mission.
