Training on Food Safety, Quality Management System and Relevant Standards Held in Beijing

  • From May 5th to May 9th 2008, SFAGM held the training on food safety, quality management system and relevant standards in Beijing. Participants in the training were 31 representatives from government agencies, processing enterprises and farmers’ associations in Sichuan, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Xinjiang, Hunan, Hubei, Yunnan and Guangxi among whom 11 were female and 10 were ethnic minorities.

    The training, already held 5 times in the past 3 years, is one of the 7 modules of SFAGM business and management training. Food safety is high on the agenda of governments at all levels and the industry. As required by the Chinese side, the training is held again to adapt to the new situation of food safety. The training involves 8 themes and 2 field visits, including GAP, ISO9000, HACCP, green and organic authentication system, pollution-free system, quality safety guarantee system on Canadian pig farms, Law on Quality Safety of Agricultural Products and the dual structure of agricultural products. The participants visited Xiaotangshan Vegetable Base and Sanyuan cow farms in Beijing.

    This training session was undertaken by Beijing HSL Certification Service on commission of SFAGM and was featured by both classroom teaching and field visits and had achieved the expected results.
