Training on Risk Assessment and Management Held in Canada

By  Yan Su (CCADP Beijing Program Office)

  • A training workshop on risk assessment and management was held in Canada on October 13 ~ November 3, 2007. There were 23 technical specialists, who came from State Food and Drug Administration, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, participating in this 3-week training. The training agencies on the Canadian side were Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Ottawa University. The training contents were the priorities of common concern of the Chinese ministries and commissions mentioned above, and the training purpose was to provide an integrated training for government staff who are in charge of food safety and risk management. After returning back to China, the trainees generally agreed that the training courses were well arranged and the training contents were rich and practical, which would be of great significance to their work in the future.
