On October 15-19, 2007, Small Farmers Adapting to Global Markets Project (SFAGM Project) held “Training Workshop on Food Safety & Quality Management System and Associated Standards” in Beijing. Representatives of government departments, processing enterprises and farmer associations who came from Sichuan, Inner Mongolia and Ningxia, as well as from the dairy projects cooperated between international financial corporations and New Hope Group, totaling 30 persons, attended the training.
This training workshop is one of the 7 business management training modules developed by the SFAGM Project. After it had made success the year before, it proved to have a good effect, so the Chinese partners request another training workshop to be held this year, in order to adapt to the new situation of food safety today. The training includes 4 topics: new requirements of the changing market for food safety, current situation analysis and policy orientation of food safety, food safety and quality standard and certification system, and applied cases.
This training workshop was authorized by the SFAGM Project and undertaken by Beijing HSL Certification Service, with both classroom teaching and filed visits. The trainers came from Certification and Accreditation Administration of China, Chinese Ministry of Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and third-party certification agencies. Also, the trainees paid a field visit to Beijing Huadu Yukou Poultry Co., Ltd. and Beijing Da Bei Nong Group, achieving the expected results.
