Position Summary
The Driver will be primarily responsible for transportation and logistical duties related to the implementation of the Sustainable Agriculture Development Project (SADP).
Duties and
Responsibilities
The Driver under contract to Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), will be responsible to:
1. Driving
-
Must adhere to Program Vehicle Policy:
|
a. |
The vehicle will be used for CCADP project activities only; |
|
b. |
Registration and licensing will be arranged by the local counterpart organization; |
|
c. |
Scheduling and operations of the vehicle will be coordinated with the Project LTTA and the Project Officer; |
|
d. |
Authorization for using the vehicle, as a passenger or driver, is only provided to CCADP staff and authorized the persons by the project; |
|
e. |
The driver maintains a vehicle logbook, accounting for mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance costs. |
|
f. |
The vehicle will be stored in a secured location; |
|
g. |
Project vehicle will be NON-SMOKING vehicles; |
|
h. |
Any vehicle (including non-project vehicles) in which a Canadian or project staff are
passengers may not exceed the posted limits and must never exceed 110 KmPH; |
|
i. |
Any vehicle in which a Canadian or project staff are passengers must never travel on highways, country roads after sunset or when it is dark. |
|
j. |
Driver must adhere to all local traffic regulations and speed limits and never consume alcohol during working hours or be under the influence of alcohol when driving. |

Provide driving service to the project staff and CIDA agricultural project personnel as required; the project LTTA has first call on vehicle use;

Maintain a vehicle logbook, accounting for mileage, fuel consumption and maintenance costs;
-
Provide transportation and logistical support to CIDA agricultural activities at field level;
-
Pick up or drop off people at the airport as required for CIDA agricultural projects activity;
-
Deliver/pick up and distribute documents/reports/certificates to project sites, partner departments/bureaus and other locations as required and other logistical support in the field office.
2. Project Vehicle Purchase
-
assist with determination of at least three quotes of same model from different sellers;
-
assist with purchase project vehicle with good conditions and reasonable price;
-
assist with all procedures and documentation to have the project vehicle ready to be used.
3. Maintenance
-
maintain cleanliness of vehicle;
-
maintain vehicle in good mechanical order;
-
report and arrange any repairs immediately through the Project LTTA;
-
ensure that vehicle under his/her care is secured from loss or damage.

send fax, making copies, binding documents as needed;
-
assist Canadian LTTA to obtain Chinese driver’s license;
-
renew driver's license for Canadian LTTA;
-
coordinate with office management on the issues related to the vehicle or parking;
-
assist with procurement of project related materials/equipment as needed under the direction of the Project LTTA;
-
coordinate with the Project Officer to keep the office equipment/facilities in good order;
-
assist the Project Officer to review the certificates of the Project LTTA and his/her family members;
-
provide other administrative, transportation and logistical support for the effective implementation of the project under the direction of the Project LTTA.
Qualifications and Minimum
Requirements
1.
Chinese nationality with comprehension competency of local dialect.
2. At least high school diploma or equivalent.
3. Valid driver license and above two years experiences on driving
(long distance driving preferred).
4. Knowledge of traffic regulations/rules/policies to ensure safety operation.
5. Be familiar with local places of the city in where the field office located and the nearby counties.
6. Ability to operate office equipment preferred.
7. Be reliable, flexible and outgoing
