Position Summary
The Driver will be primarily responsible for
transportation and logistical duties related to the implementation of
the Small Farmers Adapting to Global Market Project (SFAGM), Sustainable
Agriculture Development Project Phase II (SADP II) and the Livestock
Health Extension Service Project (LHESP) as deemed necessary.
Duties
and Responsibilities
The Driver
under contract to Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), will be
responsible to:
Driving
1. Must
adhere to Program Vehicle Policy:
-
The vehicle will be
used for CCADP project activities only;
-
Registration and
licensing will be arranged by the local counterpart
organization;
-
Scheduling and
operations of the vehicle will be coordinated with the Program
Administrator and the Administrative Assistants;
-
Authorization for
using the vehicle, as a passenger or driver, is only provided to
CCADP staff;
-
The driver
maintains a vehicle logbook, accounting for mileage, fuel
consumption and maintenance costs.

The vehicle will be
stored in a secured location;
-
Project vehicle
will be NON-SMOKING vehicles;
-
Any vehicle
(including non-project vehicles) in which a Canadian or project
staff are passengers may not exceed the posted limits and must
never exceed 110 KmPH;

Any vehicle in
which a Canadian or project staff are passengers must never
travel on highways, country roads after sunset or when it is
dark.

Drivers must adhere
to all local traffic regulations and speed limits and never
consume alcohol during working hours or be under the influence
of alcohol when driving.
2. Provide driving service
to the project director, project staff and CIDA agricultural project
personnel as required; the project director has first call on vehicle
use
3. Maintain a vehicle logbook, accounting for mileage, fuel
consumption and maintenance costs;
4. Provide transportation and logistical support to partner ministries
as deemed necessary;
5. Pick up or drop off people at the airport as required for CIDA
agricultural projects activity;
6. Deliver/pick up and distribute documents/reports/certificates to
project sites, partner ministries, the embassy and other locations as
required.
Maintenance
1. maintain cleanliness of
vehicle;
2. maintain vehicle in good mechanical order;
3. report and arrange any repairs immediately through the Project
Administrator;
4. ensure that vehicle under his/her care is secured from loss or
damage.
Annual Registration
1. be responsible for the
annual registration of the project vehicle and payment of insurance
policy.
2. be responsible for the annual registration of the project manager’s
vehicle and payment of insurance policy.
Misc.
1. send fax, making copies,
binding documents as requested;
2. assist Canadian agriculture program staff to obtain Chinese driver’s
license;
3. renew driver's license for Canadian agriculture program staff;
4. coordinate with office management on the issues related to the
vehicle or parking;
5. keep office storage room neat;
6. assist with procurement of project related materials/equipment as
needed under the direction of the Project Administrator;
7. coordinate with the Administrative Assistant to keep the office
equipment/facilities in good order;
8. assist the Administrative Assistant to review the certificates of the
Project Manager and his family members;
9. provide other administrative, transportation and logistical support
for the effective implementation of the project under the direction of
the Project Administrator.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with qualifications
